The leader of the International Olympic Committee believes it's too early to be alarmed by groups in Boston that don't want the 2024 Games in their city.
In Arizona for the Super Bowl, IOC President Thomas Bach says the committee will conduct its own internal polling, but not for at least another year.
An opposition group is calling for a referendum on whether the city should host the Olympics, though bid organizers are skeptical a vote will ever be taken.
The U.S. Olympic Committee chose Boston as its candidate this month. The 2024 Games will be awarded two years from now. Rome is currently the only other official bidder.
Bach says: "If Boston came to us and said we have 100 percent support, that would also make the bid look very suspicious."
