Boston's mayor, police commissioner and other officials say they'll restrict access to parts of the city during the Super Bowl and are urging Patriots fans to behave.

Mayor Marty Walsh called Friday for "safe and fun" gatherings. Police Commissioner William Evans said officers will be on the lookout for excessive drinking and any disorderly conduct.

Police will restrict access to Kenmore Square and other college and university areas. Evans said Kenmore will be closed after the third quarter Sunday to anyone not already in a bar or restaurant. He said there will be extra police patrols in some neighborhoods.

Earlier this week, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst said dormitories will be closed to off-campus visitors. UMass has been the scene of violent celebrations following other championships by Boston sports teams.
