The New England Journal of Medicine, which is not prone to rocking the boat, made waves this week by publishing an editorial equating mandatory quarantines for health care workers back from West Africa to “driving a carpet tack with a sledgehammer: it gets the job done but overall is more destructive than beneficial.”
