WGBH News reporter Anne Mostue was recently awarded a UN Foundation and International Center for Journalists Climate Change Journalism Fellowship. She was one of 10 U.S. reporters invited to spend three days September 14-17 in New York City and discuss the UN General Assembly Summit on Climate Change (Sept. 23, 2014).

"It was a really unique opportunity as a journalist to have so many diverse expert sources in one place," said Mostue. "We met with UN scientists, organizers, other journalists and climate change activists to talk about the summit and how to cover it from our respective cities."

Mostue covered the climate change summit from a local perspective in order to contextualize the issue for Boston, including how saving money and competition can motivate communities to reduce emissions on local levels, and Boston's pledge to reduce emissions by 25 percent by 2020.
