BOSTON — State and city officials say there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in Massachusetts, and no cause for alarm.
Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Martin Walsh were among officials who met at Logan Airport on Tuesday and declared that the state was well-prepared to deal with Ebola.
The meeting followed a pair of weekend incidents, including one at the airport in which emergency personnel in infectious disease protection suits boarded a plane from Dubai that had just landed because five passengers had flu-like symptoms. Ebola was ruled out as the cause of their illnesses.
A man who was isolated after visiting a Braintree health clinic over the weekend was also declared Ebola-free.
Officials emphasized that Ebola can only be transmitted through direct contact with bodily fluids of an infected person showing symptoms.
