CommonWealth Magazine's series about the Office of Elder Affairs describes an agency that takes a lax approach to protecting the 12,000 senior citizens who live in the 200 assisted living facilities it oversees.

According to one of the articles by freelance reporter Colman Herman, the office "receives about 6,500 reports a year of abuse, neglect, falls and other incidents, but does very little with the information."

The coverage began with a tip from Peter Antonellis, a compliance officer with the State Office of Elder Affairs.
