A Buddhist temple in Lowell is planning a memorial service for the victims and survivors of a massive apartment fire in the city.
The service is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Glory Buddhist Temple.
Seven people died, including five members of one family, and dozens of others were displaced by the early morning three-alarm fire Thursday.
Lowell has a significant population of Cambodian descent and many of the tenants of the Branch Street apartment building, including some of the victims, were Cambodian-American.
Monks from the temple held a prayer service in front of the building on Thursday attended by dozens of people.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
