Mayor Martin Walsh is starting a program focused on cultivating civic leaders throughout Boston neighborhoods.
Walsh's first Civic Academy class is set for July 12 at District Hall in South Boston. The session will be presented by Lindsay Crudele, community and social technology strategist with the city's Department of Innovation & Technology, and Charles McEnerney, principal at Layers Marketing. They will talk about best practices and helpful tips on ways residents can become civically engaged through technology and social media platforms.
The program is designed to provide an outlet for residents to collaborate with local government and to create learning opportunities that support civic engagement and community service.
