Up to now, Martha Coakley has been the presumed front runner in the race for Governor. But her second-place finish at the Democratic State Convention earlier this month raised questions about her support from party diehards. And yesterday’s rebuke from the SJC over the casino law repeal referendum raises new questions about her prospects.  

The SJC ruling is just one of several political stories making headlines this week. Martha Coakley is also in the news after reaching a deal that allows Partners Healthcare, the state's biggest healthcare network, to acquire South Shore Hospital. And Republican Richard Tisei is again taking on Democratic Congressman John Tierney.
