Certain crimes elicit a tidal wave of media attention and remain fresh in our minds long after they stop generating headlines.

The 1975 murder of 15-year-old Martha Moxley in Connecticut might not have made waves here in Boston were it not for its connection to the Kennedy family.

Now, Michael Skakel, the nephew of Ethel Skakel Kennedy, could soon walk out of prison 12 years after being convicted of a Moxley's murder. This week, a Connecticut judge ordered a new trial for Skakel, who was convicted of Moxley's murder 27 years after her death and sentenced to 20 years to life in prison.

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz has represented several high-profile clients on appeal. He joined Greater Boston to talk about the Skakel's retrial and the errors of the attorneys that led to the overturned conviction.
