A man being held in connection with two recent attacks on women in South Boston will now been charged with the murder of Amy Lord, the 24-year-old woman who police say was abducted from the same neighborhood last week.

Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley announced Thursday that forensic and other evidence has linked 28-year-old Edwin Alemany to the killing of the Wilbraham native.

Police said Lord was kidnapped and forced to withdraw cash from several banks before she was fatally stabbed. Her body was found July 23 in a city park.

Alemany was previously named as a "person of interest" in the case. He was ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation after being charged with attacks on two other women last week.

Conley said the case against Alemany will be presented to a grand jury.
