Following the third day of the James 'Whitey' Bulger trial proceedings, Margaret McLean talks more about the complex process of jury selection required for such a high-profile case, and she questions Bulger's attorneys for allowing him appear before potential jurors in jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt yesterday.
Two motions are before Judge Casper that will prove interesting: Bulger's defense is seeking to use statements given by Department of Justice lawyers in previous Bulger-related cases, presumably to expose government corruption. Also, the Boston Globe is asking the judge to allow those reporters who appear on the witness list still be allowed into the courtroom during the hearing.
