MassDot released a 157-page traffic congestion study on Thursday. During a press conference with Transportation Secretary Stephanie Pollack, Gov. Charlie Baker said that traffic congestion in the state has reached a “tipping point.”
Business columnist for The Boston Globe and WGBH news contributor Shirley Leung, told Boston Public Radio Friday that she found some of the study’s determinations to be laughable.
“Some of the conclusions were: the worst congestion in the commonwealth occurs in Greater Boston, congestion is as bad as the economy is good, we should be worried about congestion on local roads," she said. "These are some of the key findings. We kind of know that. We can file that under duh.
Leung satirized parts of the study in an article she wrote for the Boston Globe today. “I couldn’t help poking a little fun of it,” she said.
