This week on Open Studio, Jared Bowen visits the rebooted MIT Museum and visits the parks of Frederick Law Olmsted.

After closing its doors in 2020, the MIT Museum reopened last month in an expanded space about half a mile away. Located in the tech hub of Kendall Square, the reimagined MIT Museum looks at all the advances in technology and their positive — and controversial — effects on society, from genetic engineering to the increasing role that artificial intelligence is playing in art and media.

From there, ahead of Thanksgiving, Open Studio gives thanks to landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted in the year of his bicentennial. Jared Bowen heads to the Olmsted Historic Site in Brookline, which encompasses Olmsted's former home and office. It's known as the "place of places" because of the abundance of parks and public spaces that he conceptualized there. Bowen also looks at the initiative Olmsted Now. Its mission is to build on the philosophy of Olmsted by creating more green spaces in parts of Boston that are still on the margins of public parks.

Then we wrap things up with "Arts This Week," Jared Bowen's rundown of the latest arts and culture events in and around Boston.
