On Wednesday afternoon, the Senate Intelligence Committee released Comey's opening statement, in which he recalls President Donald Trump telling him “I need loyalty, I expect loyalty.” Comey also confirmed that he told then-President-elect Trump that the FBI was not investigating him personally.
Comey’s statement was posted following a committee hearing in which the nation’s top intelligence officials testified before Senate lawmakers and refused to disclose details of their reported interactions with Trump and his administration.
