President Donald Trump praised the passage of the GOP’s new health plan yesterday as a big victory on a top campaign promise he made, but U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano says Republicans will face ramifications once more is known about they bill they just passed.

Capuano was among the Democratic minority Thursday to vote against the new Republican health care plan that would replace the Affordable Care Act.

Capuano says once the congressional budget office scores the bill, voters and moderate Republicans will see more clearly just how the plan will affect Americans.

“Because in a few week, we’re going to be able to tell people, you know, representative so-and-so from this state just voted for a bill that’s going to cost his constituents 200,000 people their health insurance, or whatever the number’s going to be. So they can’t escape reality, they can just pretend it doesn’t exist for a little while,” Capuano said.

The Somerville Democrat said he expects the Senate to take it’s time with their own health care proposal and won’t pass the House bill.
