It can be hard to cut through the vast television landscape to find the gems that are worth watching.

Bob Thompson, the founding director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture, and a trustee professor of television and popular culture at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, joins Boston Public Radio every week to give his take on the best and worst that TV has to offer.

This week, Thompson chose the last season of "Orange Is The New Black" as his best of the week, the premiere of "Lights Out With David Spade" as his worst of the week, and "South Side" on Comedy Central as his what to watch.
