The trendy twentysomething women hanging out during this year's hottest weeks yet were staying cool in draped or cropped tees and tanks, lightweight dresses and mini shorts, almost all with sun-shielding straw hats and glasses. Their other accessories—leather jackets and backpacks, horsehair sandals and black high-tops—showed that mixing classic hot- and cold-weather materials, and layering, even in the heat, is what's eye catching right now.
