Soldiers Field Road is reopened to traffic, now that a charter bus that struck an overpass in Boston has been cleared from the scene.
Boston police say the driver of the Calvary Coach bus failed to heed low-clearance warning signs as he drove the bus eastbound on Soldiers Field Road last night. Emergency officials say 34 passengers in a group of high school students from Pennsylvania and their chaperones were injured, and one person sustained life-threatening injuries.
The group was on a college tour and they were heading back to Pennsylvania after visiting Harvard. State police are continuing to investigate the accident; they say the driver will most likely be cited for an over-height violation and he could face more serious charges.
