Well, Boston sports fans, just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse....

The Celtics defeated the vaunted Miami Heat in thrilling triple overtime game on Sunday afternoon. It's the kind of statement win that usually dominates the sports pages and talk radio airwaves for days afterwards. And yet, there was little mention of it on Monday.

That’s because Celtics nation also learned Sunday that all star point guard—and arguably the team's best player—Rajan Rondo is out for the season with a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament ACL. And all this with the sting of last Sunday’s Patriots loss still fresh.

Is this the beginning of the dark days for Boston sports fans or are there still some bright spots on the horizon? That question loomed large on BPR during our regular Monday sports roundup.
