In the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the NRA responded that the best way to protect schoolchildren was to place a guard with a gun — in every school.

But study after scientific study find that where there are more guns, there are more violent deaths.

So could the answer to curbing the number of guns that are out there, and by extension the number of gun-related deaths be found in public health successes?
