Suffolk University is inaugurating its new president.
An inauguration ceremony for James McCarthy is scheduled for this morning in Faneuil Hall. He officially took over in February.
McCarthy is scheduled to discuss his vision for the university, including ways to prepare students for the professions by emphasizing career readiness, while at the same time making education affordable.
He says he wants to take advantage of the university's location and strengthen partnerships with neighbors on Beacon Hill.
Before joining Suffolk, McCarthy served for five years as provost and senior vice president at Baruch College in New York City.
