New Bedford has one of the highest dropout rates in Massachusetts. In a city where little more than half of the students who attend New Bedford High School graduate in 4 years, the focus in the media is often negative. 

We hear about the students who didn’t make it, the overwhelming challenges they face, the obstacles that got the best of them.

Los Angeles filmmaker Jason Pollock has set out to shift that focus by telling the stories of the students who succeeded at six different high schools across the United States.  Two New Bedford students appear in his film. Callie Crossley talked with Jason Pollock about “Undroppable” — a social media campaign and documentary in the making about students graduating against the odds.
