(Boston, Mass., February 28, 2023) Brian O’Donovan’sA St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Sojourn, presented by Boston public media producer GBH, returns in 2023 with five performances in four venues this year, March 15, 16, 18, and 19. In addition to in-person performances, there will also be a virtual stream of the show on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.

Since 2004, GBH’s A St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn concerts, produced by O’Donovan, have introduced a wide range of new and familiar musicians alike to audiences eager to celebrate the holiday in true Irish style. In the tradition of the popular 89.7 GBH radio program A Celtic Sojourn and its holiday counterpart A Christmas Celtic Sojourn, the show will celebrate Celtic culture and traditions through music and dance. Keith Murphy, who has been with the series since 2012, will lead the cast again as Music Director. Jenna Worden and Ashley Smith-Wallace also return as Artistic Director/Producer and Dance Director, respectively. This year’s line-up features amazingly talented and lively artists including world renowned traditional singer and flute player Nuala Kennedy, Uilleann piper Joey Abarta, guitarist and vocalist Eamon O’Leary, one of today’s finest living Irish fiddlers Kevin Burke, Boston native, fiddler Katie McNally, and a unique voice in the world of Celtic music, pianist Neil Pearlman.

“This year, we are thrilled to continue our tradition of gathering together both in-person and virtually to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day anyplace and anywhere,” said Brian O’Donovan, creator and host for the concert series. “St. Patrick’s Day – and perhaps the entire month of March – is a time to explore and celebrate the music and dance of Ireland and other stops along the Celtic world. We hope you’ll join us for another wonderful celebration, joined by our tremendous cast from across the globe.”

Given Brian's current medical condition, the cast and crew are making certain accommodations. Brian would love to attend and host all of the upcoming performances, however given his current treatment plan, his health may not allow for it. Other hosts will fill in as necessary.
