WGBH’s Masterpiece presents an epic retelling of Victor Hugo's classic novel, Les Misérables. A host of Britain's most-talented actors, including Dominic West, David Oyelowo Lily Collins, Olivia Colman and Josh O'Connor. This adaptation was scripted by Andrew Davies. In tonight's premiere, after serving a draconian prison term for stealing bread, Jean Valjean is released. He resorts to petty crime, but Bishop Myriel teaches him a valuable lesson.
