Winter is here! Today is the Winter Solstice, when the sun is at its southernmost position relative to the equator. From our standpoint on earth, it’s been setting sooner every day since last June’s equivalent celestial event. If you’re weary of the short days and dark nights, take heart because the light will linger longer from now until the height of summer!

WGBH hopes you can spend the longest night of the year in the company and comfort of friends, family, and your bestie beasties.
