  • Born in New York City in 1944, Christ attended public schools in northern New Jersey. In 1966 she graduated with high honors from Douglass College and went on to Yale University, where she received the Ph.D. in English. In 1970 Christ joined the English faculty at the University of California, Berkeley. As chair of her department from 1985 to 1988, she built and maintained one of the top-ranked English departments in the country. She entered the university
  • Jessica Valenti is a feminist writer and blogger. She is the founder and editor of the popular blog and online community, Feministing.com, and the author of three books: *Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman's Guide to Why Feminism Matters*, *He's a Stud, She's a Slut and 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know*, and *The Purity Myth: How America's Obsession with Virginity is Hurting Young Women*. She is also a co-editor of the anthology *Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power* and a *World Without Rape*. Jessica's writing has appeared in *The Nation*, *The Guardian* (UK), *The American Prospect*, *Ms.* magazine, Salon.com and *Bitch* magazine. She received her Masters degree in Women's and Gender Studies from Rutgers University, where she is now a part-time lecturer. Jessica speaks at universities and organizations across the country on feminism, blogging, and politics.
  • Captain Karen M. Kahn has been actively involved in aviation for more than 35 years. She holds all ratings through ATP and was the first woman to be type-rated on the Lockheed JetStar. Her other ratings include flight engineer, seaplane, glider, helicopter, helicopter instrument, and master certificated (MCPI) flight instructor for both instruments and multiengine. Prior to starting her airline career in 1977, she instructed at Sierra Academy of Aeronautics (Oakland, CA) and later ran her own accelerated weekend ground school. At the present time, she's a Boeing 757/767 captain for a major US air carrier and has flown the Boeing 727, DC-10 and MD-80 on both domestic and international routes. She's a frequent speaker at pilot seminars as well as career and communication workshops. She has also written for various aviation publications, including AIR Inc.'s *Air Line Pilot Careers magazine*, AOPA's *Flight Training magazine*,* Flying Careers magazine*, *Woman Pilot*, and *International Women Pilots/99s News magazines*. Karen specializes in helping pilots improve their flying and communication skills. She founded Aviation Career Counseling in 1989 to help pilots save time and money in their quest for a professional pilot's career. ACC offers personalized counseling for pilots of all experience levels, from people with zero flying time to retiring airline captains who want to continue flying professionally after their mandated retirement age.
  • John J. Michalczyk: Professor/Co-Director of Film Studies and current Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Boston College, he is also a documentary film producer since 1991 and founder of Etoile Productions. He has produced and directed twelve documentaries as well as scripted eight of them. Several have received regional Emmy awards among other distinctions.
  • Odelia Englander was a visiting Research Fellow at the International Centre For The Study Of Radicalisation as part of the Atkin Fellowship program. She Holds a BA in Government, Diplomacy and Strategy from the Interdisciplinary Centre (IDC) and in the process of finishing her MA in Diplomacy and Conflict Studies, specializing in International Intervention and Mediation. Odelia had been volunteering with the OneVoice Movement and served as the head of the Young Leaders Council, reporting to the international board of advisors on grassroots outreach activities. As part of her international involvement in promoting peace and reconciliation in the region, Odelia is a member of the Middle East Youth delegation to the annual Petra Conference of Nobel Laureates.
