Georgia Perimeter College , the third largest institution of the University System of Georgia, serves more than 20,000 students through six locations in metro Atlanta, Alpharetta, Clarkston, Dunwoody, Decatur, Lawrenceville and Newton County. Each quarter, we publish the best in creative writing, essays, fiction, literary criticisms; everything you've come to expect from a celebrated literary magazine. The Writers Institute brings together the College's writers and literary publications to create a new center for the literary arts at GPC.

  • Elizabeth Cox discusses her newest collection of short stories, *Bargains in the Real World*. Lauded for her deft touch in portraying the human condition, Cox's thirteen stories feature characters who are forced to strike a bargain with the world in order to survive. Cox is the author of three novels and recipient of the O. Henry Award. She defines herself as an educator as well as a writer, offering innovative approaches to writing fiction.

  • Charles McNair, author of *Land O'Goshen*, introduces and interviews author Chuck Palahniuk about his latest bawdy release, *Snuff*. This event is co-sponsored by the Georgia Center for the Book.   • Georgia Perimeter College Professor Shawn L. Williams leads a slavery symposium discussion on The Willie Lynch Syndrome: Consequences of Mythologizing History. The Willie Lynch Syndrome has been devised to explain the psychological problems and disunity among black people. Williams debunks the myth of Lynch's existence and urges careful analysis of history for understanding the impact of slavery and white supremacy on African Americans.
