"How can Boston learn from other cities that have succeeded in the realm of place-making, or intentionally creating an urban space inviting to business and community? This panel discussion featuring Mike Lake, Yoon Lee, Joe Albanese, Robert Buckley, Tom Palmer and the late Lowell Richards explores the examples set by revitalization efforts in Madrid and Barcelona. How can their innovation be applied to the Boston area? For example, as the South Boston waterfront is developed, how can it attract business, while also serving as an appealing recreational district, and still maintaining affordable housing options? These questions and others are discussed. The presentation opens with a tribute to the late former Boston Mayor Kevin White."
