Following rousing applause and a friendly welcome to Massachusetts from Gov. Maura Healey, a longtime friend, Josh Shapiro, Governor of Pennsylvania, sat down with former news editor Marty Baron to discuss a life in politics, as outlined in his new book, "Where We Keep the Light: Stories from a Life of Service."
In the book, Governor Shapiro shares personal stories about his family, his faith, and his journey in public service. He reflects on some of the most challenging and defining moments of his life—the night an arsonist set fire to the Governor’s Residence while he and his family were asleep inside, his consideration as a potential running mate to Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, and the childhood experiences that helped shape the leader he is today.
By bringing his story forward now, Governor Shapiro aims to share the values that he believes guide so many of us. He asserts that, even in divided times, there is far more that unites us as Americans than separates us.
