Professor Amel Ahmed is the Associate Professor of Political Science at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her main area of specialization is democratic studies, with a special interest in elections and voting systems. She is author of “Democracy and the Politics of Electoral System Choice: Engineering Electoral Dominance".
**Mayor Nicole LaChapelle** is mayor of Easthampton, MA. She was one of Massachusetts' 11 nominated electors in this year’s presidential election. As a municipal government representative from western Massachusetts, she felt she was the right person for the job, especially since 2020 marked the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote in the United States.
