Artist/photographer Kate Sartor Hilburn and writer/activist Terrie Queen Autrey present a photographic project inspired by true stories of domestic violence. The pair teamed up to create a body of work telling the true stories of women they encountered through their work in domestic abuse prevention. *The Beating Hearts* exhibit consists of large and small photo constructions with accompanying text.

Kate Sartor Hilburn lives and works in Choudrant, Louisiana. She has exhibited her work throughout the United States and in Europe. Her latest works are "Pentimento," images based on the renovation of the metro station Champs Elysees-Clemenceau in Paris, and "Re-Constructing Marie."
