A local documentary "Museum Town" takes an in-depth look at how the old mill town of North Adams in the Berkshires got an infusion of new creative energy and economic activity through the creation of the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, known by many as MASS MoCA. Film director Jennifer Trainer, who was one of the key people who brought the museum to life, joined Jim Braude on Greater Boston to talk about the labor of love.

“Contemporary art wasn’t on anyone’s radar,” Trainer said about the North Adams’ transformation. “One of the reasons I made this film was because I felt like I was witness to this extraordinary story... It’s complicated to weave a contemporary art culture into a blue-collar town.”
