The Highlights And Winners From The 2018 Boston Music AwardsThe House of Blues Boston was brimming with talent last night as the 2018 Boston Music Awards commenced. The evening was chock full of notable moments including local favorite Cousin Stizz being named "Artist of the Year" and "Hip-Hop Artist of the Year." Aubrey Haddard doubled up on the metal with "Singer-Songwriter of the Year" and "Vocalist of the Year." We were thrilled, but not surprised; we knew she was going places after taping her Live at Fraser performance in April.

Speedy Ortiz At The SinclairSpeedy Ortiz's no-nonsense approach to progress has established them as one of this decade’s most vibrant bands. And we're so lucky that they call Boston their home! They put on an incredible performance last night at The Sinclair, and with a set list chock full of songs spanning their entire catalog - including 2018's Twerp Verse - and the hometown crowd couldn't have asked for a better show.

Thom Yorke At The Wang TheatreRadiohead's latest journey through the U.S. just came to an end, but that's not stopping Thom Yorke. The frontman's recently announced solo tour was in town on Saturday, and with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barri in tow, fans were subject to a diverse catalog of Yorke's solo work from over the years, and one incredible visual experience.

Leon Bridges At Agganis ArenaThe river of soul music flows on deep and strong within Leon Bridges, and the Texas native brought that incredible energy to the stage last night at the Agganis Arena, playing songs from his 2018 release Good Thing, along with hits from his 2015 breakout Coming Home. "I'm not saying I can hold a candle to any soul musician from the '50s and '60s," Bridges says, "but I want to carry the torch."

Jade Bird At The Brighton Music HallSinger/songwriter Jade Bird came roaring into Brighton Music Hall last night, armed with her gorgeous white guitar and sparkling voice, and put on a show chock full of wit and a relentless energy. The NPR Music 2018 Slingshot artist has a knack for writing songs about the moments in life that you wish you could forget, including her current hit "Lottery," a song she told theboot.com was inspired by a conversation with her ex. Bird threw in a charming cover of "Walk Like an Egyptian" to round out the night, and an incredible show.

Belly Live At RoyaleIt’s been almost 30 years since Tanya Donelly (Throwing Muses, The Breeders) formed Belly. In 1993 their debut Star shot them straight into stardom, and the single, “Feed the Tree” became a global hit. 25 years later and the alt-rockers are back with Dove, a balanced, collaborative work that’s brought the band closer—with each other and their audience—as witnessed at their show last night at the Royale. We couldn't be more thrilled that they're back at it.
