Boston's Interim Superintendent Talks Goals, ChallengesBoston Mayor Marty Walsh has tapped Laura Perille as interim superintendent for the Boston Public Schools. The school committee is to vote on the appointment on Monday. Perille takes over for Tommy Chang who, after three years on the job, announced his resignation a week ago. Perille has two children who graduated from the Boston Public Schools. For 16 years, she's been president and CEO of a nonprofit called “Edvestors”. Perille spoke with WGBH All Things Considered anchor Barbara Howard about her goals while she’s interim superintendent. This transcription has been edited for clarity.
