On Thursday, NBC News reported that Facebook ignored its own research revealing racial biases in the platform's algorithm. Tech writer Andy Ihtanko talked about the story Friday during an interview on Boston Public Radio. He said the fact that current Facebook employees are leaking damaging information to the press indicates that "the dam is starting to burst."
"You used to never hear any stories come out from current employees inside Facebook, but now frustrations are at such a head internally that they're reaching out and they're talking to reporters," he said.
