The memo describing President Donald Trump’s call in July with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky was published Wednesday, showing Trump asking a foreign leader to investigate the family of a potential political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, among other things. Trump and his allies in Congress have continued to say that the call shows nothing damning, as it does not include an explicit quid pro quo. However, the record shows Trump making his request, and telling Zelensky to speak about it with Attorney General William Barr and his own personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, at the same time that American funding for the Ukraine hung in the balance.
