Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski testified before the House Judiciary Committee yesterday as part of Congress’ investigation into Russian election interference. His claims of “executive branch confidentiality” to avoid answering questions frustrated Democrats, some of whom have been signaling support for opening a formal impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump based on concerning elements of the Mueller report. But the party is still divided on that issue, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying they do not have the votes to push it through. The incident has raised questions again about what the Democratic party’s strategy is for confronting Trump and winning in 2020.
