Former President Donald Trump, who incited an insurrection and was impeached twice, is running for office again, but this campaign isn't looking quite like the last one, according to guests on Greater Boston.

Jennifer Horn, former chair of the New Hampshire GOP, said Trump's recent announcement to run for president in 2024 was "dark," "underwhelming" and "full of lies."

Joe Malone, former Massachusetts treasurer, said he voted for Trump twice but will not do so again. "He's damaged goods," Malone said. However, he bristled at the media referring to Trump as an insurrectionist, which Horn said was well deserved.

Malone said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would make a better candidate for president. She questioned what Trump might do to keep his base and what Republican leadership might do to take it away.

"The Republican party is going to try to package this as Trump was great when we had him, time to move on to Desantis," she said.
