The FBI announced Monday it was investigating a motorcade of President Donald Trump supporters who surrounded a Biden campaign bus on Friday on a Texas interstate and allegedly tried to run it off the road — an effort that Trump later praised as the work of “patriots.” The episode is just the latest case of Trump encouraging vigilantism from his supporters in the weeks leading up to the election, adding to longstanding fears about how Trump might react if Tuesday’s election results do not go in his favor.
