Livestream will start at 9PM After days of speculation, President Trump will announce his second nominee to the Supreme Court Monday at 9 p.m. The announcement comes less than two weeks after Justice Anthony Kennedy, 81, announced his retirement. Kennedy was appointed by President Ronald Reagan, and took the bench in 1988. He has acted as the swing vote on several occasions in his 30-year tenure on the high court, especially on social issues including abortion and gay rights.

Finalists for Trump's nomination include Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, Amy Coney Barrett and Thomas Hardiman, all of whom were part of a longer list of 25 possible nominees vetted by conservative groups, according to the Associated Press. While Trump is hoping for a repeat of the Senate's successful confirmation of his first nominee, Neil Gorsuch, Democrats are preparing to hone in on the nominee's views of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.

Whomever it is, the nominee has the potential to shape the court and the law for decades to come.
