Google announced this week that its employess will be able to work from home until at least July 2021, and many other companies could follow suit, homeland security expert Juliette Kayyem told Boston Public Radio on Wednesday.

"You want to go back to the office? Think again," she said. "These companies realize they can maintain an appropriate level of engagement, and the expense and the exposure are not worth it."

Kayyem is an analyst for CNN, former assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security and faculty chair of the homeland security program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
