It will be the House Judiciary Committee's turn to begin the next round of impeachment hearings this Wednesday, continuing the investigations that the the House Intelligence Committee conducted for the past two weeks under the leadership of Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff. Taking over the reins to lead the forthcoming impeachment hearings will be Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jerry Nadler.
Shannon O'Brien, former Massachusetts state treasurer and Democratic nominee for governor and Charlie Chieppo, principal of Chieppo Strategies, senior fellow at the Pioneer Institute and adjunct professor at Suffolk University, joined Boston Public Radio on Monday to discuss why some people are concerned that Republicans will be able to walk over Nadler, more so than they were able to with Schiff.
"I think that Jerry Nadler is a good congressman, but I think that he does not have the gravitas and the skills that Adam Schiff brought," O'Brien said. "Adam Schiff came across as level-headed, cool, had things under control, but did not take any sort of guff from the other side."
"I don't think it was an accident that Nancy Pelosi started this process in the Intelligence Committee and not the Judiciary Committee," Chieppo agreed.
