This coming Monday, the Senate Judiciary Committee is ready to hear from both Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford. For many observers, the situation has strong echoes of Anita Hill's accusations against then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas in 1991. Hill accused Thomas of sexual harassment, her accusations met by a categorical denial from the nominee, a conservative stalwart. For Hill, the all-white, all-male Judiciary approved Thomas' nomination — and for Hill, justice was really never served. Now in the era of #MeToo, could this time be different?
