The Six-Word Memoir project first launched in 2006, inspired by a Hemingway legend that claimed he was once challenged to write a story using six words only.

Author Larry Smith reissued the challenge to the online world. The result was a best-selling book series, plus a board game and a slew of live events.

Now Smith is out with his latest work, “Six Words Fresh Off The Boat: Stories of Immigration, Identity, and Coming To America.” He recently joined Jim Braude to talk about it.
