Every year—either after a terrorist attack or during high travel time—an investigative reporter tries to see how any weapons he can smuggle onto an airplane . Ultimately, it's Peter Neffenger’s job to make sure the reporter can’t fulfill his.
Neffenger is the Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration, in addition to being responsible for security operations at nearly 450 airports throughout the United States and shared security for highways, railroads, ports, mass transit systems and pipelines. He joined Boston Public Radio to discuss the busy upcoming holiday travel season, how he's aimed to put a friendlier face on the agency, and more.
