49er's quarterback Colin Kaepernick says he'll sit during the star spangled banner again tonight and a lot of people aren't happy about it. The Boston Globe Reporter Gary Washburn (@GwashburnGlobe) and Associate Sports Management Professor at Lasell College, Dwayne Thomas, joined Adam to discuss.

Both Washburn and Thomas agreed that the backlash Kaepernick has received is no surprise. Thomas said that it is a surprise that we don't have more people saying he is a true American. "We should be supporting what he's saying," he said. Washburn, who covers sporting events as a reporter, noted that plenty of people do not stand during the anthem at games. However, now people care. He said that there needs to be an etiquette review.

They also discussed Kaepernick's socks, which depicted police officers as pigs. Thomas said that the socks were overboard, but his protest is a fundamental right. Washburn called the NFL the no fun league, and said it is different than the other sports leagues. They both noted the lack of understanding for the rules of respect regarding the flag and the anthem.
