Edwin Alemany, convicted in the brutal murder of Amy Lord, is headed to prison for life. Many questions still remain regarding Alemany's mental health, and whether he should be getting more help. His lawyer, Jeffrey Denner ( @jeffreydenner ), discusses the verdict and the failed insanity defense.
"Edwin Alemany was a sick boy who, as he got older, turned into a very sick man. He is literally, figuratively and legally insane," Denner claimed. "Even though it was clear to everybody that he was insane, clear to everybody that he was one of the sickest people they'd met," says Denner, "you can't ask a jury to make that kind of decision."
