One of the political battles this election year is about what to do with waste, specifically some bottles and cans. Ballot Question 2 seeks to expand the state’s bottle bill. Advocates say applying the five-cent deposit to more beverage containers is a proven way to reduce litter. Opponents call it an unnecessary burden on consumers.
