Taped by the WGBH Forum Network, Dr. Nathaniel Sheidley visited the Old South Meeting House to describe how Boston’s historic council chamber was refurnished to its 1760s appearance.

Within this framework, Dr. Sheidley, historian and Director of Public History at the Bostonian Society, discusses the function of furniture within a public history context and the way it can aid interpretation.
